Overview
mediaCamAV can export captures directly to PowerPoint 2000 and greater. It requires a full registered copy of PowerPoint installed on your machine. If you are using mediaCam Lite you will need to add your captures into PowerPoint manually.
How to insert a capture into PowerPoint
To manually insert a capture file, open PowerPoint and select the Insert menu and select Object, the Insert Object dialog box will appear, select mediaCam Player Control as your object then select OK. To change the controls properties select the object in your slide using the right mouse button, from the menu select the mediaCam Player Control Object option then select Properties. Enter the required details of your capture file and preferred playback options.
Problems with Distribution
When distributing your capture you may have problems with the Pack And Go option of PowerPoint. There is a problem with the way it treats embedded objects, basically it doesn't include them in your Pack and Go.
To export a presentation with any embedded objects you will need to:
- Install the mediaPlay ActiveX on your destination machine. This is included in the mediaCam AV distribution (mediaPlayInstaller.exe).
- Copy your script file (.mcsf) and capture file (.mcam) to where your PowerPoint file is located. These will be in the same folder as your PowerPoint file.
- Make sure you haven't used absolute paths for your capture files, if you have then make sure they point to the new installed location.
